When selecting the topics for our workshops, we asked ourselves what we, as dancers, would love to experience as participants in our festival. We also considered which topics we often felt were missing. This is why we decided to include dances that are rarely found at other festivals, such as Bolero, Danzón, and Afro-Contemporary. We incorporated theoretical classes led by a professional musicologist and organized the Afro-Cuban workshops not by Orisha but by the toque (rhythm) you will be dancing to. Lastly, we dedicated a room specifically for Rueda de Casino.
